Carbon Life

We're used to seeing folks wearing something that looks like the Design Bureau logo around, usually on a tote bag—I mean, we have some serious fans out there. But, earlier this year, the DB logo (or something coincidentally a lot like it) took to the London stage on a larger scale in Carbon Life. Carbon Life, at London's Royal Opera House, featured choreography by Wayne MacGregor and live music by Mark Ronson and guest vocals from the likes of Boy George. From the looks of it, it was something else. But it was those costumes by British designer Gareth Pugh that really got our staff's attention. The dancer's almost arrowhead-shaped legs and mask are just the spitting image, perhaps upside-down, of the Design Bureau logo. And coincidentally, the show, much like Design Bureau mag, was accused of being just too hip and too fun for the stuffy folks. Unfortunately, it ended a run in April and there's plans to bring it back quite yet.
