Event | Celebration Gala for Archive13 Winners October 4

Thursday, October 3rd, 2013

“Sacrifice. Judgment. Worship.” These are the steps that the Society of Typographic Arts (STA) deemed necessary for the recently announced winners of its Archive13 competition, which recognizes outstanding achievements in Chicago graphic design. Entries consisted of work created by designers, agencies, companies and non-profit or government organizations based in Chicago and its surrounding counties, as well as work by students in the state of Illinois. The winning pieces were chosen from a field of hundreds of entries by this year year’s judging panel, which included Dana Arnett of VSA Partners, Marian Bantjes, Jon Forss of Non-Format, Michael Freimuth of Franklyn and Kim Knoll of Knoed

The Chicago design community will celebrate the winners Friday, October 4 at a gala where the chosen designers’ work will be on display at the Harrington College of Design in the heart of the Loop. The selections will become an exhibit at the school’s gallery that will be open each day for the entire month of October. All selected works will also become part of the Chicago Design Archive permanent collection.
