Guerrilla Furniture and Art Truck Show 2012 | Photos

Morlen Sinoway Atelier's annual Guerrilla Truck Show (technically the Guerrilla Furniture and Art Truck Show) has become something of a seasonal must in Chicago art and design circles. This year's event, the 8th annual, benefitted Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids and featured an expanded range of pop-up exhibits from designers, craftsmen and contemporary artists in U-Hauls, trucks and trailers pulled up to the Fulton Market loading docks. Food trucks and stands ringed the array with finer bites than you might find at your typical street fest. And various nearby designer shops and studios had their open houses or V.I.P.-only soirees. Quick review of the GTS: The work was shockingly good, the party and the people-watching was even better, the weather was absolutely perfect. Some of my favorites were New Breed Furniture Network, Brokenpress Design and Fabrication, Heritage Chicago bicycles, Weetu Workshop's Plant Lamp, DB contributor Eve Fineman and Urban Wood Goods, but that's just skirting the surface.
