INSIDE World Festival of Interiors
Wednesday, September 18th, 2013
You read that right—we're going inside the INSIDE World Festival of Interiors, a program that gathers the most original and exciting designers in the world together to pitch against each other in this unique awards competition.
Scheduled to take place at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, October 2-4, INSIDE will feature 22 design professionals giving speeches on their profession and will also showcase the 59 nominated designers, each giving live pitches to the judging panel as to why they should be crowned the winner of 2013’s Best Interior Design.
"Interior architecture and design are related but separate disciplines to mainstream architecture, and the INSIDE award and talks program show why," says Paul Finch, Programme Director of World Architectural Festival. "From digital design to creating delight, the Festival will open up fresh ideas and demonstrate the influence of interiors on how we work, rest and play.”
Nominations include the Heydar Aliyev Centre by Zaha Hadid, an apartment in Barcelona by David Kohn, WOHA’s Park Royal on Pickering, which showcases tropical gardens cover the outside of a Singapore skyscraper, and the Google Japan Headquarters by Klein Dytham. Other speakers at the festival will include world-renowned interior designer Nigel Coates, the revolutionary transport designer Paul Priestmann, and installation designer Jason Bruges.
