London Teens Scoop Design Prize for Cool Pins

Friday, February 15th, 2013

Looks like the future of design is pretty bright. A group of 13-16 year olds from Trinity School in Lewisham, London have convinced a formidable panel of judges including Anya Hindmarch, Sebastian Conran, Tony Chambers, and Naomi Cleaver that their invention is good enough to be sold in the London Design Museum Shop. They created a set of badges called Pics Pins that show images of segments of famous London landmarks that can be interchanged in the style of the ‘Consequences’ game. The winning students competed against more than 100 secondary schools in this year’s Design Ventura competition. They'll receive a £1,000 scholarship and guidance from professional designers to develop the product.
