Only in Ireland could wool sculptural textiles honor the knitted stitch without looking cheesy. Irish lass and textile designer Claire-Anne O’Brien celebrates knitting by exaggerating scale, bold color, and textured forms with her line of knitted stools.
In all her pieces, O'Brien incorporates traditional Irish knitting techniques, showcasing hand and machine made ring and loop stitching. The stools come in a variety of unique shapes and patterns, including braid plaits and winding snakes, and a whole array of lively colors.
So, here’s to hoping that Claire-Anne’s knitting addiction is a healthy one. Share in her obsession and kick up your feet on one of her kooky yet functional stools. Wool socks optional.
