Own an Aviary Porthole

If you follow cocktail culture at all or live in Chicago, you've surely heard of The Aviary—a somewhat exclusive high-end-cocktail-serving "speakeasy" in which the word speakeasy actually means "talk about all the time." In any case, perhaps the most interesting thing about Aviary for designophiles is the custom-made Porthole, a cocktail infuser designed by Chicago's own Crucial Detail. The Porthole is used in creating, displaying and serving the time-lapse infusions that make Aviary's seasonal cocktails so special. Now, Crucial Detail wants you to own a Porthole of your own. It's close to completing a $28,500 Kickstarter project to produce a dishwasher safe, durable version of the Porthole in precision ground and tempered low iron glass, food grade Delrin, and stainless steel. with a retail price of around $100. There are still a few spots left to get in on the ground floor and own Portholes from the initial run. Hey, it might be cheaper than a night at the Aviary.
