Despite the recession, Rolls-Royce sold 3,538 vehicles in 2011, a record year. And it's poised to sell more in 2012. This week, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and Manhattan Motorcars hosted the grand reopening of the expanded Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Manhattan at 270 Eleventh Ave. But the real hype was the unveiling of the latest Rolls, the Phantom Series II, which officially arrives in showrooms this September. Phantom Series II marks big changes for Rolls. The distinctive  grill and iconic Spirit of Ecstasy remain, while modern bumpers and LED headlights are new. With driver assistance tech, improved satellite navigation, improved fuel efficiency and new user interfaces, the storied brand name is adapting to the techy times. There will also be a drophead coupé version and an extended wheelbase model.
