Mid-Century Goes Modern: The Dunn Cocktail Table
Monday, August 6th, 2012
Love the classic Noguchi famed accent table but want something a bit more original? Check out Room & Board's Dunn Cocktail Table. Like the 1948 Noguchi original, the Dunn has a curved base that looks like it's carved from one piece of wood. But unlike the Noguchi, it stands on four rails to create an asymmetric form. It "adapts to unusually-shaped rooms," says Room & Board CEO John Gabbert of its atypical shape. The Dunn's slender base profile also helps downplay its mid-century roots a bit, fitting the table into more contemporary homes. It's a clean update on the staple design style. We think Noguchi would be pleased.
