Squish Studio, Fogo Islands Studios

By John Dugan
Today, we're featuring more from Saunders Architecture's designs of artist studios on Fogo Island, Newfoundland, for the Arts Corporation of Fogo Islands, the Squish Studio, in fact, near the town of Tilting. The trapezoidal building is only 30 square meters of space, supported by stilts and perfectly suited for a transient artist who travels lightly. What you don't see? The kitchen is powered by solar panels on the roof and it features a compost toilet and wood burning stove—call those green features if you must.
