Tcherassi Hotel

The Tcherassi Hotel + Spa is located in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. Designed by, owned by and named after fashion designer Silvia Tcherassi, the hotel is a renovation of a 250-year-old colonial mansion. It is Tcherassi's first foray into the hotel industry, but she claims it is a natural extension of her vision as a designer, as "fashion and hospitality are both businesses totally committed to the creation of new experiences."
In addition to seven unique rooms, the simultaneously modern/rustic hotel also features chef Daniel Castaño's authentic Italian coastal cuisine in its restaurant VERA. The restaurant and lounge overlooks a vertical garden, four pools and a roof deck with 360 degree views of the city. A spa service offers full amenities and treatments, with help from Spain's Germaine de Capuccini.
Overall, a restrained renovation of an already beautiful site. The exposed brick and stone inject personality and warmth not often seen in ultra-modern design. And the various lighting fixtures and finishes complement the textured surfaces without competing for attention.
