The Invariants

We've noticed the rough beauty of concrete popping up in more accessories these days than ever. Sergey Makhno gets down to the basics with a series of vases called The Invariants formed from concrete and three-liter glass jars—the type found easily in Europe, it seems. The series is also inspired by math and the basic geometric forms—a square, a rectangle, a circle are played with in these almost bricklike pieces. I can imagine flowers really popping against these rough surfaces, too.
