A Night for Independent Magazines

One of the best gifts you can give this holiday season is a subscription to an independent magazine. OK, so we might have a slightly vested interest in the issue, but there are plenty of others who share our viewpoint.

Take Stack, for example. Stack is a subscription service that brings the world's best independent magazine together under one roof. If you sign up, they'll handpick and deliver publications like Little White Lies, It's Nice That, Anorak, and a little something called Design Bureau. That's just a small sampling of what you can receive with a reasonably priced subscription.

Though many of us sit behind computers all day, working hard to bring you the coolest content around, it's nice to get out once in a while and put a face to a name. That's what makes Printout, Stack's series of print celebrations, so great. The most recent event took place in November at The Book Club in Shoreditch. There were loads of  magazines and plenty of beer. The theme of the evening was labors of love, and speakers like Les Jones (Elsie), Gareth Main (Bearded), and Cathy Olmedillas (Anorak) talked about their own experiences making the things that they love.

If you're in the London area, be sure to catch the next Printout. Word is, it'll take place sometime in January.
