Own the World’s Smallest House
Monday, March 19th, 2012
Small has a certain chic these days. The 65 square foot Tumbleweed XS House on the other hand, isn't chic at all, but just well, quaint and functional. It has a real bathroom, kitchen and a sleeping loft. Recently, the Toledo Museum of Art included a Tumbleweed XS House in an exhibition called Small Worlds. The house, built in a day with donated labor and materials, is now up for auction on eBay with the proceeds going to the museum's early childhood art education fund, which means you can buy the world's smallest house for a cool $25K. Still a bit of a bargain as it costs about $36K to make one. Plus it's historic and for a good cause, right?
If your means a bit more limited or you own a lumber yard, Tumbleweed sells the XS House plans, Small House book, and DIY book for just $99.
