Visualizing Marathon 2010

The Visualizing Marathon 2010 is a 24-hour student data visualization competition inspired by robotics competitions and science fairs. Twenty two teams of students from schools such as Columbia, Parsons, Pratt, NYU, and Harvard will compete and collaborate, using design to tackle real-world issues.
The Marathon opened last Friday, the 22nd, at the Eyebeam Art + Technology Center in NYC. Presenters included: - Paola Antonelli (MoMA) - Lisa Strausfeld (Pentagram) - Jer Thorp (blprnt/NYTimes) - Brooke Singer (Eyebeam) - Tahir Hemphill (Eyebeam) - Beth Comstock (GE) - Adam Bly (Seed) In addition to an interactive VJ performance, there was a SuperDraw performance and MultiDraw installation by Joshue Ott with music by Ezekiel Honig and David Last. The results will be announced in two weeks.
