A collection of terrariums from artist Paula Hayes bridge the gap between indoor planters and contemporary sculpture. Exhibited at Marianne Boesky Gallery, these micro landscapes can be enjoyed from a distance or, with the aid of a little imagination, can come alive with lifelike possibility.  The substantial size of the terrariums hold their own against the human scale as well as alongside furniture.

Hayes has been leading a renewed interest in green design by bringing the allure of living elements to otherwise artificial environments.  With a background in sculpture and science, her projects also include living jewelry, planters, landscapes, and bird projects. Currently, her work titled “Nocturn of the Limax Maximus” is on exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
